New West Demerara Hospital expected to open in late 2027

The new West Demerara Hospital is expected to open in late 2027, expanding access to advanced diagnostic and specialist healthcare services for residents of Region Three and surrounding communities.

Health Minister, Dr Frank Anthony, provided the update in a recent post on his Facebook page, following a visit to the construction site, where he noted that work on the modern healthcare facility is progressing steadily.

The new state-of-the-art hospital is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in Region Three by bringing advanced medical services closer to residents, reducing the need for patients to travel to Georgetown for certain diagnostic procedures and specialist care.
