Several new hospitals are currently under construction in various parts of the country and are expected to raise the standard of healthcare services provided in the hinterland and other parts of Guyana.
Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony told the Department of Public Information (DPI) that the 120-bed West Demerara Hospital will be completed at the end of next year.
This new hospital will have at least four operating theatres, a modern accident and emergency department, a new imaging suite which will do X Rays CT-scans and MRIs, among other modern amenities.
