The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), on July 09, 2026, launched two new verification services, Verification of Tint Meters and Verification of Sound Level Meters, further expanding its measurement services to support law enforcement and regulatory agencies. The new services will become available effective July 13, 2026. The launch was held at GNBS Head Office at the National Exhibition Centre, Sophia, Georgetown.
The new verification services are intended to ensure the accuracy and reliability of instruments used to measure Vehicle Visible Light Transmission (VLT) and environmental sound levels, in accordance with the relevant standards and regulatory requirements.
The verification of these measuring instruments will promote consistency, transparency and confidence in enforcement activities undertaken by the relevant authorities. Accurate and reliable measurements also strengthen the credibility of evidence presented during legal and judicial proceedings.
