The body of Tara Lochansingh was found shortly before noon on Saturday, entangled in a bamboo-lined bend of the Matura River.

It was Coast Guard divers who brought her body out. They entered the water after volunteers worked through the night to cut and clear away the bamboo.

For almost twenty-four hours, the family of the 47-year-old grandmother from Navet Village, Rio Claro, had waited, first with hope, then with resignation.
