The State has abandoned its appeal against 69-year-old Star Sabga’s release from prison.

This as the controversial detention of Sabga has attracted the attention of The New York Times, which yesterday published an article on her case.

Attorneys representing the State informed the Appeal Court by e-mail just after 4 p.m. yesterday that they will no longer be proceeding with the substantive matter against Sabga.
