Police are investigating the sudden death of a three-week-old baby boy at his family’s home in Cunupia on Wednesday morning.
Around 5.10 a.m., officers at the Cunupia Police Station received a report of an unresponsive infant at Webb Trace, Jerningham Junction Road. Responding officers arrived shortly after and met the child’s mother, who said she awoke to check on her newborn twins, when she discovered the boy unresponsive.
The baby, born on August 14, was lying next to his mother on her bed. She told police she last saw him alive and in good health at 1.15 a.m. When she checked him again, she noticed blood coming from his nose and mouth.
