Russian deputy permanent representative to the United Nations’ (UN) Security Council Dmitry Polyanskiy yesterday expressed deep concern over what he called a “dangerous escalation” in the Caribbean, as the United States continues its lethal military strikes on alleged drug-carrying vessels in the region.
Polyanskiy posted to his X account that Russia (which remains at war with Ukraine) rejects “warmongering” and referred to the boat strikes as “unlawful”.
“We are all deeply concerned by the dangerous escalation in the Caribbean. The US is continuing its military build-up along the shores of Venezuela and unlawful strikes against alleged drug boats,” he wrote.
