The United States military carried out another high-profile strike on a vessel off the coast of Venezuela early Tuesday, killing six men onboard who were accused of drug trafficking and ties to a terrorist organization, President Donald Trump announced.
The strike, which reportedly occurred in international waters, marks the fifth such operation in just over a month, part of what the Trump administration describes as an escalating campaign against “narcoterrorist” networks operating in the Caribbean.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the targeted boat was “affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization,” though he did not name the group or provide evidence supporting the claim.
