(Kaieteur News) – The A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) on Friday raised concerns over Guyana’s breast cancer survival rate, highlighting a gap between the country’s rapidly growing wealth and the health outcomes of its citizens.
Former Minister of Health, Dr. Karen Cummings said APNU joins breast cancer survivors, their families, healthcare workers and communities across Guyana in raising awareness, encouraging early detection and remembering those who have lost their lives to the disease.
She said Breast Cancer Awareness Month should prompt a fundamental question: Are Guyanese becoming healthier and living longer, better lives as the country earns more from oil?
