Families in the San Juan/Laventille region received seventy-two thousand, one hundred and seventy-four dollars and fifty cents ($72,174.50) in Disaster Relief Grants on Friday 3 July 2026, as the Honourable Vandana Mohit, Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, continued the Ministry’s national disaster relief efforts, through a distribution event and home visits.
During the distribution event, which took place at the Ministry’s head office, St. Vincent St, Port of Spain, Minister Mohit reaffirmed that disaster relief extends beyond financial assistance and reflects the Government’s commitment to standing with citizens during difficult times. She encouraged recipients to use the assistance responsibly, noting that every grant represents an investment in helping families recover, rebuild and move forward with dignity.
