The Government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable families continued on Wednesday July 15, 2026, as the Ministry of the People, Social Development and Family Services (MPSDFS) delivered Disaster General Assistance and Home Repair Grants valued at Six Hundred and Fifty-One Thousand, Three Hundred and Nine Dollars and Eighty-Five Cents (TT$651,309.85) to 59 households across the Sangre Grande region.
Addressing recipients, the Honourable Vandana Mohit, Minister of the People, Social Development and Family Services, reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to ensuring that vulnerable families receive timely assistance during difficult times, noting that every grant reflects the Ministry’s continued commitment to improving the lives of those most in need.
“Today’s distribution is another demonstration of this Government’s unwavering commitment to championing the poor, the vulnerable and those who often face life’s greatest challenges. We have always believed that the true measure of good governance is not found in words, but in action; not in promises, but in the lives we improve. That principle continues to guide every initiative we undertake at this Ministry. Every grant presented today is an investment in hope, dignity and the opportunity for families to rebuild and move forward with confidence.”
