In­cum­bent Mem­ber of Par­lia­ment for Diego Mar­tin North East, Colm Im­bert, has promised his con­stituents that this term will be his ‘very best’ as he rep­re­sents them one last time.

Im­bert, one of the longest-serv­ing PNM MPs, was the sole nom­i­nee screened for the con­stituen­cy. The par­ty’s Screen­ing Com­mit­tee an­nounced him as their choice to con­test the seat de­spite ru­mours that PNM fi­nanciers were against his re-se­lec­tion,

The vet­er­an MP told Guardian Me­dia he was un­fazed by the ru­mours and said he was not too con­cerned about whether he would be re-se­lect­ed.
