It was the signal to the crowd that Finance Minister Colm Imbert had been re-selected as the PNM candidate for Diego Martin North/East by the PNM Screening Committee at Balisier House last night.
Celebratory chants of “Colm Imbert, Colm Imbert, Colm Imbert” filled the air as Imbert emerged smiling broadly, surrounded by his supporters who embraced him amidst the loud cheers and the blowing of horns. The speculation that surrounded the Diego Martin North East candidacy over the past two weeks had ended with his return to the constituency he had represented for the last 34 years.
