Prime Minister Andrew Holness welcomed a CARICOM Goodwill Mission to Jamaica today to assess the damage and recovery efforts following Hurricane Melissa.
In a Facebook post, Holness said he was honoured to host a delegation comprising CARICOM leaders, including the Prime Ministers of Barbados, Guyana, Grenada, and Antigua, along with representatives from regional and international partners such as the Development Bank of Latin America, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
Holness expressed gratitude for the show of solidarity, stating that the visit reaffirmed that Jamaica “does not stand alone.” He added that the mission aims to support recovery efforts through partnership, unity, and shared purpose, as Jamaica works to rebuild affected communities and strengthen resilience against future disasters.
