NGO Concerned Muslims of Trinidad and Tobago (CMTT)—which is currently on the ground in Jamaica—has invested approximately US$22,000 in relief supplies to assist those affected by Hurricane Melissa.
CMTT public relations officer Imtiaz Mohammed said in a voice note yesterday that the group is mobilising to support people particularly in the southwest and northwest of Jamaica.
He reported that 500 hampers will be distributed to hurricane victims, containing food items, hygiene products and other essentials. “Tomorrow we intend to distribute 300 of those hampers in the hardest-hit areas...we hope that everything goes successfully,” said Mohammed.
