This was part of the tribĀute paid in the SenĀate yesĀterĀday to InĀdeĀpenĀdent SenĀaĀtor DeĀoroop Teemal, who died last month. SenĀaĀtors obĀserved a minuteās siĀlence on his passĀing.
Teemal served in the SenĀate for sevĀen years and yesĀterĀday, his seat was deĀclared vaĀcant. Sophia Chote, SC, who has been apĀpointĀed to the poĀsiĀtion, was sworn in yesĀterĀday.
