Mystery surrounds which authority within the hierarchy of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service recommended and authorised the installation of emergency lights and a siren on the private vehicle of then-assistant superintendent of police Allister Guevarro.
Questions also remain about what justification was provided to the then-transport commissioner for granting a privilege so rarely, if at all, afforded to any police officer.
Four months before Guevarro was appointed Commissioner of Police in June 2025, a close relative of his was pulled over by officers of the Licensing Division while driving his (Guevarro’s) private vehicle and was questioned about the emergency lights and siren installed on it.
