Citizens and several animal rights activists have expressed outrage over the noise from fireworks during this year’s Divali festivities.

Many took to social media yesterday to voice their complaints, highlighting concerns about the impact on pets and local wildlife.

Wildlife photographer and conservation advocate Roger Neckles said in a statement he e-mailed to the Express, “What should be moments of joy and celebration have become nights of trauma, anxiety, and environmental disturbance.
