A female municipal police officer has been found dead at the San Fernando Municipal Police Station, as investigators probe the disappearance of firearms from the station’s strong room.
The deceased has been identified as Anusha Eversley, an acting corporal attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Municipal Police Service (TTMPS).
According to police reports, the officer was last seen alive around 11 p.m. on Saturday in the charge room area of the station at King’s Wharf, Lady Hailes Avenue. At approximately 4:40 a.m. on Sunday, an officer returned to the area and observed it in darkness. After switching on the lights, he noticed what appeared to be blood coming from the corporal quarters and that the strong room was open.
