A female municipal police officer was found dead at the San Fernando Municipal Police Station on Sunday morning, triggering a major security investigation after firearms were reported missing from the station’s strong room.

Police sources said the officer, a corporal attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Municipal Police Service (TTMPS), was discovered dead on duty at the facility located at King’s Wharf, Lady Hailes Avenue.

Homicide and forensic investigators were called to the scene, which was immediately secured. Crime scene officers were seen processing the area and conducting fingerprint analysis as part of ongoing enquiries.
