GUNFIRE pierced the quiet community of Chittar Trace in Penal yesterday when a construction worker was shot dead at a work site.

Ganesh Ramcharitar, 41, of Ramsamooj Trace in Penal, died on the road in front of the house where he was hired to do a job.

Police are searching for the killer who got a lift to the construction site to carry out the shooting. They say a dispute over money is the suspected motive for the killing.
