A Siparia bartender and her teenage daughter narrowly escaped with their lives on Saturday night after her home was allegedly set on fire by her boyfriend.
Police said the 29-year-old of Gamble Street Extension, was at home around 9:45 p.m. with her 14-year-old daughter when her boyfriend of eight months arrived and began beating her.
The mother and daughter fled outside to call police, but the suspect allegedly threatened to burn down the house. Moments later, flames were seen inside.
