Located just east of the narrow Bunsee Trace bridge lies a modern, completed two-lane bridge, still unopened, unused, and now at the centre of public outrage.

And commuters are calling for the unfinished Debe-to-Penal segment of the Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension Project (SHHEPF) to be completed.

Their call follows the tragic death of 29-year-old Kalisa Danclair when the vehicle she was driving veered off the narrow Bunsee Trace bridge and plunged into the swollen South Oropouche River late Monday night.
