CARICOM IMPACS and regional and international partners have seized an estimated US$54.5 million in illicit assets and contraband during a four-week maritime operation targeting transnational smuggling networks across the Caribbean.
In a release yesterday, it was stated that the seizures were made in May during “Operation Eclipse”.
It involved 14 Caricom Member States, seven Associate Members and international partners including Canada, Colombia, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and Interpol.
