MORE than one year since rig worker Pete Phillip was thrown from the platform of Well Services Rig 110 as it collapsed last December, his family says they have not heard any positive news from the company on its recovery efforts.
Last month, Well Services released a statement announcing that an expert in marine salvage and recovery operations within the oil and energy sector had arrived in Trinidad and would undertake salvage and recovery efforts.
Phase one of such efforts, which is intended to stabilise the site and mitigate risks, has been completed, the family was told. But as the year draws to close, they said, they have not yet been updated on if these efforts have yielded any fruit.
