One man is dead and another hospitalised after they were struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the Churchill Roosevelt Highway late Friday night.
Police said the incident occurred around 12:01 a.m. yesterday along the westbound lane near Maloney. The driver, of Bon Accord, Tobago, told officers he was heading west in his Honda Vezel when two men ran into his path from the northern side of the roadway.
The vehicle collided with both pedestrians. One man, whose identity remains unknown, was pronounced dead at the scene. He is described as of African descent, bald, brown in complexion, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, and was wearing black three-quarter pants and a grey jersey.
