KINGSTON, Jamaica — The cancellation of a match between Jamaica’s senior women’s football team and the Super Falcons of Nigeria was due to issues with the date, the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) says.
In a press release on Thursday, the JFF said, contrary to reports suggesting that the fixture was cancelled due to “administrative issues” on the part of Jamaica, the issue was that the proposed dates were outside official FIFA Women’s international window.
Noting that the organisers of the Unity Cup had extended an invitation to the Regga Girlz to participate on May 27, 28, or 30, as part of the launch of activities for Unity Cup 2026 in the United Kingdom (UK), the JFF said the dates fall outside of the window which runs from June 1 to June 9, 2026.
