Lyder, Taitt receive Chaconia Silver for journalism

FORMER Trinidad Express Editor-in-Chief Omatie Lyder and former Political Editor Ria Taitt have expressed deep gratitude and humility after being awarded the Chaconia Medal (Silver) for their contribution to journalism.

The veteran journalists, whose careers at the Express span more than four decades each, described the national recognition as an honour not only for themselves but for the profession to which they dedicated their working lives.

Lyder spent 43 years at the Trinidad Express Newspapers, including 15 years as Editor-in-Chief, before retiring in February. She now serves as a Consulting Editor.
