Four veteran journalists to receive Chaconia Silver

Former Trinidad Express Editor- in-Chief Omatie Lyder, and former political editor Ria Taitt, as well as photojournalist Andrea De Silva and veteran journalist and author Jai Parasram, will receive the Chaconia Medal Silver.

Lyder spent 43 years at the Express, including 15 years as Editor-in-Chief. She retired in February and is now a Consulting Editor at the Express.

The Office of the President highlighted her newsroom leadership and mentorship of generations of journalists.
