Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (ORTT) during his upcoming official visit to this country from July 3–4.
The announcement was made in a media release from the Office of the Prime Minister on Tuesday. The ORTT is the nation’s highest honour and is conferred in accordance with Section 10(6) of the Constitution of the Distinguished Society of Trinidad and Tobago.
Modi, who accepted an invitation from Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, is the first Indian Prime Minister to be elected to three consecutive terms, having been sworn in for a third time on June 9, 2024.
