More than two months afÂter he was charged with two sexÂuÂal ofÂfences inÂvolvÂing a child, the DiÂviÂsion of Health, WellÂness and SoÂcial ProÂtecÂtion of the ToÂbaÂgo House of AsÂsemÂbly (THA), yesÂterÂday conÂfirmed that Hanif BenÂjamin is no longer afÂfilÂiÂatÂed with it.
The forÂmer chairÂman of the ChilÂdren’s AuÂthorÂiÂty is due to reÂturn to court on JanÂuÂary 16 next year afÂter he was placed on $170,000 bail afÂter he was slapped with sex charges inÂvolvÂing a miÂnor.
BenÂjamin, a clinÂiÂcal and forenÂsic trauÂmaÂtolÂoÂgist and clinÂiÂcal therÂaÂpist, who served as chairÂman of the auÂthorÂiÂty beÂtween 2017-2020, is acÂcused of enÂgagÂing in sexÂuÂal acÂtivÂiÂty in the presÂence of a child and sexÂuÂal comÂmuÂniÂcaÂtion with the child.
