The ongoing legal drama involving the Community-Based Environmental Protection and Enhancement Programme (CEPEP) has taken a new twist, with attorneys representing the State enterprise arguing that the former board of directors was deceived into believing that Cabinet had approved the extension of over 300 contracts for a further three years.
A bundle of documents was submitted to the court on July 14, 2025, by CEPEP’s legal team—led by former attorney general Anand Ramlogan—in the matter brought by contractor Eastman Enterprises Ltd, which is challenging the termination of its contract.
