SENIOR Counsel Martin Daly has questioned the manner in which Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh was appointed as Chief Justice, describing the process as poorly handled and lacking transparency.
Daly said that while he has no objection to Justice Boodoosingh’s elevation to the post, the secrecy and suddenness surrounding the procedure had undermined public confidence in the Judiciary and in the country’s system of governance.
He made the statement during an interview on radio station i95.5 FM.
