THE Counter Trafficking Unit (CTU) of the Ministry of Homeland Security says it is reviewing allegations made by self-confessed former human trafficker Alex Philip following his recent interview with the media.

In a release yesterday, the ministry said the allegations contained in the Trinidad Guardian and accompanying video interview on CNC3 television had been brought to the attention of the relevant authorities and were being assessed to determine what investigative or other action may be required.

“The allegations described in the publication are serious,” the CTU said, noting that while it could not comment on the accuracy of statements made publicly by individuals, the information “has not been ignored.”
