The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice has is­sued an up­dat­ed yel­low lev­el high wind alert for Trinidad and To­ba­go and sur­round­ing wa­ters, warn­ing that breezy to windy con­di­tions are ex­pect­ed to con­tin­ue in­ter­mit­tent­ly un­til to­mor­row af­ter­noon.

In a pub­lic warn­ing mes­sage is­sued at 10.03 am to­day, the Met Of­fice said gusts ex­ceed­ing 55 kilo­me­tres per hour are like­ly, es­pe­cial­ly near show­ers. The con­di­tions are ex­pect­ed to be more se­vere in east­ern ar­eas and along el­e­vat­ed ter­rain.

The Met Of­fice warned that while the gusts may be brief, they could still dis­place un­se­cured roofs and loose out­door items and break tree branch­es.
