The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice has is­sued a yel­low lev­el haz­ardous seas alert for north­ern ex­posed coast­lines of Trinidad and To­ba­go, in­clud­ing north-fac­ing coast­lines of the Gulf of Paria to a less­er ex­tent.

The alert takes ef­fect from 5 am to­mor­row and runs un­til 9 am on Feb­ru­ary 28.

In a pub­lic warn­ing is­sued at 1.20 pm to­day, the TTMS said high-en­er­gy, long pe­ri­od norther­ly swells are ex­pect­ed to pro­duce large break­ers along nearshore north­ern coastal ar­eas.
