The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued a Yellow Level Hazardous Seas Alert which comes into effect 4 PM Tuesday April 8, until 4 PM Thursday April 10.
According to the TTMS, north-northeasterly long-period swells are expected to agitate seas over the period. Larger than normal breaking waves can be expected in the surf zone (nearshore area).
Conditions can be exacerbated at high tide times, especially with spring tides (higher than normal high tides) during the latter part of this week. Northern and north-eastern facing coastlines for Trinidad and Tobago are among the areas at risk.
