The Trinidad and To­ba­go Me­te­o­ro­log­i­cal Ser­vice (TTMS) has is­sued a Yel­low Lev­el Haz­ardous Seas Alert which comes in­to ef­fect 4 PM Tues­day April 8, un­til 4 PM Thurs­day April 10.

Ac­cord­ing to the TTMS, north-north­east­er­ly long-pe­ri­od swells are ex­pect­ed to ag­i­tate seas over the pe­ri­od. Larg­er than nor­mal break­ing waves can be ex­pect­ed in the surf zone (nearshore area).

Con­di­tions can be ex­ac­er­bat­ed at high tide times, es­pe­cial­ly with spring tides (high­er than nor­mal high tides) dur­ing the lat­ter part of this week. North­ern and north-east­ern fac­ing coast­lines for Trinidad and To­ba­go are among the ar­eas at risk.
