Prime Minister Stuart Young says it does not appear to be a blanket tariff from the United States of 10% on all goods exported from Trinidad and Tobago into that country, as there are some exceptions.
On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump slapped tariffs on 180 countries. From tomorrow, goods from Trinidad and Tobago entering the United States will be subject to a baseline 10% tariff.
Trump unveiled two new types of tariffs, which he said were aimed at addressing trade deficits between the US and its trading partners.
