Two young children were forced to lie on the ground, while their father was beaten and robbed by masked men who then set fire to two bedrooms at their home in Mayaro on Tuesday night.

The 44-year-old father was at his Alexis Street home with his children when he heard noises outside at around 9.30pm.

He looked outside and saw a man walking into his premises. But before he could react, police said, a second man forced open the front door and ordered Baptiste and his children on the floor.
