A 25-year-old man from John Baptiste Road, Balmain, was arrested early on Boxing Day after allegedly assaulting a police officer and making threatening statements.
At around 3:20 a.m. Constable Morrison, in company with WPC Samuel, responded to a report of a wounding at John Baptiste Road, Balmain, received from the Command Center. Upon arrival, the officers observed two men sitting in the gallery area of a flat house at the end of the street.
PC Morrison approached one of the men and informed him of the report. He initially denied any involvement, stating: “No officer, no one make a report.” Shortly afterward, a woman approached the officers and confirmed she had called the police.
