Police say a knife-wielding suspect was tased repeatedly and shot in Maraval on Tuesday.
According to a police report, four officers were on mobile patrol in the Maraval district when around 6.25 p.m. whilst patrolling along Saddle Road Maraval in the vicinity of Moka, they received information via wireless from Police Command Centre relative to a "mentally ill adult male" who was observed lighting his house on fire at Wall Trace, Paramin, Maraval.
Based on the information received the party of officers proceeded to the mentioned location where on arrival officers they observed the suspect, 29 from Saut Deau Road, Paramin, Maraval, wearing a black long track pants and red T shirt, rubber boots, and armed with a knife.
