Barbados’ Customs and Excise Department is now basking in the glory of a significant number of seizures.

Delivering remarks during the Barbados Customs and Excise 121st anniversary church service at Power In The Blood Assembly, Tudor Bridge, St Michael, yesterday, Acting Comptroller of Customs Lynette Padmore revealed that so far this year, teams at the Grantley Adams International Airport, Bridgetown Port and the General Post Office seized just under 1 000 kilogrammes of cannabis valued at approximately $8 million, along with other contraband.

“The department also confiscated 12 firearms, 15 magazines and approximately 900 rounds of ammunition with cocaine, methamphetamines, various tactical gear and equipment camouflage, tasers and drones,” she said.
