Customs seizes guns, drugs in $8m border haul

Customs officers in Barbados have seized 12 firearms, about 900 rounds of ammunition and nearly 1 000 kilograms of plant material as they deal with evolving threats at the country’s borders.
Acting Comptroller of Customs Lynette Padmore disclosed that officers had also intercepted cocaine, methamphetamines, tactical gear, camouflage, tasers and drones.
Teams working at the air and sea ports and the General Post Office seized the plant material, which has an estimated street value of about $8 million.
