(Kaieteur News) – A team from the Civil Defence Commission (CDC), headed by Director General, Colonel Nazrul Hussain, is currently in Kwakwani, Region 10 where an impact assessment is being done following floods there.
The CDC team is also engaging key stakeholders to support ongoing response efforts.
During the visit, the team met with Regional Executive Officer (REO), Dr. Harris at the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) and Ms. Michelle Simeon, Chairperson of the Kwakwani Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), to discuss the current flood situation, community impacts, and priority response needs.
