The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) is currently conducting a multi-sectorial responseĀ following reports of high winds that affected the community of Arau, Region Seven, causingĀ damage to several residential structures.
Based on preliminary information provided by the Village Toshao, fifteen (15) houses haveĀ been reported as damaged, with the impacts primarily affecting roofs and other sections ofĀ residential structures. These figures remain preliminary and are subject to verification asĀ assessments continue.
An ongoing damage assessment is currently being conducted to determine the full extent of theĀ impact on households and community infrastructure. The assessment and response are beingĀ coordinated by the CDC with support from the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), Guyana PoliceĀ Force (GPF), Regional Democratic Council (RDC), and Arau Village leaders.
