Acting Commissioner of Police (CoP) Junior Benjamin yesterday presented a scorecard for the T&T Police Service (TTPS) which showed they had recorded a significant reduction in serious and violent crimes since the year began, compared to the same period for the past two years.
Reading from documents in front of him yesterday during a police media briefing, Benjamin applauded the hard work of officers, which he said had led to the positive results they were currently experiencing.
He said the murder count which stood at 153 up to Tuesday, represented a 33 per cent decline - compared to 228 murders in 2024, and 241 in 2023.
