Police are investigating a fatal road traffic accident that claimed the life of Simone Solange-Williams Rose, 45, of Spoonville Terrace, Maloney Gardens, early Sunday morning.

Around 6:35 a.m., Rose was attempting to cross the eastbound lane of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway near the O’Meara intersection in the vicinity of Milson’s Service Station when she was struck by a white Nissan AD Wagon.

The driver, later identified as a 44-year-old man from Malabar, reportedly panicked and left the scene but later went to the Arima Police Station, where he reported the incident and produced his driver’s permit and insurance documents.
