PRESIDENT Christine Kangaloo has warned that artificial intelligence (AI) is making it increasingly difficult to distinguish truth from falsehood, urging citizens to exercise greater discernment before believing, sharing or acting on information.
“How are we to remain faithful to truth when artificial intelligence can create false words, false images and false voices that appear real?” she asked.
Kangaloo raised the question while delivering the feature address on Wednesday night at the 40th annual Divali Nagar in Chaguanas, where she focused on this year’s theme, “Viveka—Discerning Truth in the Age of AI”.
