DESPITE the significant increase in penalties for illegal gambling and Play Whe operations, there has been no improvement in sales for legitimate Play Whe and gaming operators.
This is according to the heads of two gaming industry associations- Allen Campbell, president of the Electronic Lotto Agents Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ELAATT), and Dean Persad, president of the Online Gaming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (OGATT).
Both expressed scepticism that the current measures would curb the illicit operations, which they said are hurting legitimate operators.
