Prime Minister Stuart Young has announced that in an effort to get more “boots” on the ground to fight crime, a future People’s National Movement (PNM) government would increase the retirement age of Defence Force officers.
He also announced that a future PNM government under his leadership would ensure nursing students at The UWI and University of the Southern Caribbean (USC) receive the same stipend as those at COSTAATT.
He also committed to increasing nurses’ wages, noting Regional Health Authority nurses have not had salary adjustments since 2013.
